The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The hotel grounds were beautifully maintained. I enjoyed the excellent restaurant, with attentive staff and delicious food (especially the dessert!).
The pool area seemed somewhat neglected. I noticed a lack of sun umbrellas.

small spa broken steam room
I was a bit let down by the spa. It felt quite small and lacked variety. also, the steam room wasn't working, disappointing. the inside of the building seemed a little worn. It didn't quite match the grandeur of the grounds and exterior? basic rooms didn't help either.

overcooked steak slow service
I requested a quiet room but received one near the service entrance. Staff conversations there began early. The restaurant service was notably slow one evening. My steak arrived overcooked. These issues detracted from an otherwise acceptable stay.
