mixed feelings about my stay

the refurbished room was acceptable.

The restaurant situation was disappointing. i found the limited bar food options annoying. It seemed like they weren't really catering to guests wanting a simple meal. also, the restaurant being closed on a sunday evening created a problem, especially because finding another place to eat nearby was difficult. cleethorpes doesn't seem to have many options open that night.

i stayed in a single room, it was very clean. the reception staff helped me with my luggage since the lift was out of order. they also ordered a taxi for me when i needed it. the restaurant and room service menus had plenty of choices, and the meals i ordered were superb.

The room was a significant distance away and had stairs to navigate. This caused considerable physical effort.

the hotel has an excellent location on the seafront. it is easily accessible from the railway station if you travel by train. there is also adequate parking at the hotel, very convenient.

on arrival, the reception staff was very friendly and helpful. they assisted me with my luggage, as the lift was out of order at that moment. they were also very helpful in answering one or two other queries.

the staff were really friendly and helpful. our room was very spacious and clean.. it also smelled really nice. the hotel itself seemed well organized and i found it to be very clean.

i waited quite a while to be offered a drink, i must admit. the main course arrived cold when it eventually came, disappointing. it was sent back, but came back cold again, made me quite fed up.

the receptionist i encountered was not cute and seemed surly. later, i discovered an unauthorized £100 charge to my credit card without any prior contact from the hotel. apparently, they assumed i caused a burn mark on a chair in the room, pre-existing.

The room included bottled water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. the bed was comfortable and the bathroom included both a bath and a shower. the breakfast included fresh fruit, toast, jam, and a full english breakfast. It was amazing.

i found the car park full because of lunch visitors, and i parked 75m away. the room rate was higher because it was a bank holiday weekend. the room, located in the former attic, was very hot.
