The Northern Light Inn offers a convenient location near the Blue Lagoon and the airport, making it ideal for short stays and early departures. Guests often appreciate the clean and spacious rooms, some featuring L'Occitane shower gel, shampoo, and hand wash. Breakfast receives high praise, particularly the crispy bacon and coffee selection; however, some guests have mentioned the proximity of a geothermal plant affecting the view. The hotel also provides amenities such as a gym and a common area with drinks.
The staff was really helpful. They answered all my questions about local attractions. the beds and pillows were so comfy i slept really well each night.
The view from my room wasn't great. It looked out onto some industrial buildings. the hotel felt a bit outdated. Some of the furniture showed its age.

the staff were friendly and the food was acceptable.
The geothermal plant next door was an unwelcome sight. It impacted the view and the surrounding environment. the room lacked proper airflow and felt uncomfortably warm, which hindered sleep. the room was also quite dated. I noticed the bathroom mirror was worn and the towels were frayed, not what i expected for the price.
the breakfast bar offered a nice selection. i liked that max's restaurant accommodated gluten-free needs. they had a free shuttle to blue lagoon and back.
i found the mirror in the bathroom to be quite worn. the towels felt a bit frayed and old. the furniture looked somewhat chipped, it was not the best look.

geothermal plantcheap soap
The location seemed promising, BUT a geothermal plant sits nearby. I noticed it right away. It was not a pretty view. The room got TOO hot, and i couldn't adjust the temperature. The provided soap also felt cheap, it had a strange smell.
the staff was helpful with directions. the breakfast had multiple options. the hotel offered a wake-up call if the northern lights looked. i appreciated this service. they also provided a shuttle to the blue lagoon. it was convenient and saved me time. the room was very clean upon arrival.
my room lacked body lotion. i thought this was a basic amenity. the towels felt old. the view from the room overlooked a geothermal power plant. it was not the most scenic view. the hallways had an unpleasant odor.
