i was really excited to find that the english breakfast was delicious and abundant. the staff coped very well even though many of us had not pre-ordered it (i certainly hadn't!). the room, a twin room, was very cosy and clean.
the corridors on the ground floor had a slight sweet smell, a bit unpleasant (but not a big deal!).

i found the receptionist to be friendly. she gave prompt, efficient, and attentive customer service. the breakfast waiter was also helpful. the room i had was comfortable, spacious, and clean. the bed felt comfy.
The marketing was a little deceptive. the tudor building is just a front. The majority of the rooms are in a pair of converted council flats at the hotel's back. they seemed substantially less nice, with unclean carpets. they also felt poorly heated, and there was mould in the shower.

I found facilities satisfactory. The bathroom was clean, and the bed had nice clean sheets. The room included a microwave and fridge. This was a welcome bonus. The on-site parking made arrival easy. I had a 1st-floor room with a view over the garden. The check-in process was both simple and speedy!
The room smelled faintly of old cigarettes. Fresh air freshener might help.
