Rooms and Suites
Mingary Castle, located 200 km from Coll, offers a range of suites, each with unique features. The MacDonald Suite, a self-contained apartment in the West Range, features a hand-carved oak staircase leading to a first-floor bedroom with a king-sized antique four-poster bed and an en-suite with a shower over the bath; dogs are welcome. The MacIain Suite features a super-king-sized antique four-poster bed, half-height oak paneling, and hand-sewn crewel fabric; the sash windows offer views of the Sound of Mull. The MacDougall Suite, on the second floor of the Castle's north range, includes a four-poster double bed, refined antique furniture, and an en-suite bathroom with a bath for two and stargazing windows. The McCain Suite, on the third floor, has two rooms with king-size oak four-poster beds and views of the Sound of Mull towards Tobermory from the sash windows or a private terrace; the Italian marble bathroom features a freestanding shower and a bath for two.
Culinary Experience
The restaurant is overseen by chef patron, Colin Nicholson, who uses local, sustainable, and seasonal produce from the West Coast of Scotland. A daily changing five or eight-course tasting menu is available. The signature eight-course tasting menu and a five-course set menu are served in the 20-cover dining room. Simple dishes with flavor are at the heart of the cooking. A fine dining Creative Ùir Tasting menu can be pre-ordered at least 24 hours in advance for GBP 70 per person. The restaurant has two AA Rosettes. Dinner service is from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM daily; lunch is served Thursday, Saturday and Sunday between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM; afternoon tea is served every Friday between 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM.
Location and Activities
Mingary Castle sits on the coastal fringes of the 12,000-hectare Ardnamurchan Estate, at the heart of countryside. Guests can explore the area with Sunart Cycles, which offers bike rentals; chef Colin can prepare a picnic. Sanna Bay is 25 minutes away. The Ardnamurchan Distillery and Ardnamurchan Natural History Visitor Centre are nearby. Nature Scotland offers land-based wildlife adventures to discover the Isle of Mull and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula; the Mull Nature Expedition includes relaxed vehicle-based experience that includes one or two easy leisurely walks; the Ardnamurchan Expedition starts in Tobermory (Mull) and Kilchoan (Ardnamurchan). Otter Adventures offers outdoor experiences.

Mingary Castle is located in Kilchoan Village and dates back to 1495 when James IV stayed at ' the castle of Meware in Ardnamurchan '. Over its 700-year history, the castle has been renovated, featuring oak paneling, four-poster beds, Caithness stone flooring, a hand-carved staircase, and furnishings.

Mingary Castle offers exclusive use for family gatherings, wedding celebrations, and business occasions; it can accommodate up to ten guests in four suites, with extra beds available for children. Stays can be tailored to include personalized menus and organized activities. Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 10:30 PM, and check-out is at 10:30 AM. Children up to 2 years old stay free in a cot; children from 3 to 16 years old are charged £40.00 per person per night for an extra bed. Dogs are welcome in the MacDonald Suite for a fee of £25 per dog per stay. Free toiletries, ironing facilities, heating, tea and coffee facilities are available.
