i booked a room last minute after a car accident. i asked for a ground floor room when i arrived and waited in the bar until one was ready. the staff was very professional. i found the food to be good value for the price.
the website photos did not match the room i received. the room felt dated (this surprised me a little) and the bedside light did not work. i also noticed the towels were not the best quality.

The breakfast was awesome and the service came with a smile, I am grateful. The staff was attentive, which improved my stay. I found the room comfy and very clean with all needed facilities. I enjoyed the Xmas menu in the restaurant one evening, very festive.
I felt that the two single beds were a little thin and lumpy. Definitely needed changed.

The hotel is near a main road, and I noticed how quiet it was despite the proximity. The well-kept green area around the hotel contributed to a peaceful feel. Accessing the hotel from Edinburgh was straightforward, aiding my travel plans.

the room was acceptable.
the room was not very clean. i noticed marks everywhere. the carpet did not appear to have been hoovered and there were bugs on the window sill. the bathroom was quite filthy as well.
