Hotel Garni Corona, renovated in 2016, provides 24 classically furnished rooms with wooden floors. The hotel offers standard double rooms overlooking the village streets. Double rooms provide views of Menaggio and the surrounding mountains. Select double rooms have views of Lake Como and include French doors. Seven double rooms feature a balcony with seating. Superior rooms accommodate up to four guests and include a sofa bed; some are located on the 3rd floor with French doors, while one is on the 4th floor with a balcony. Each room includes a satellite TV, a safe, a work desk, free toiletries, and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Guests preferring a larger shower should book a superior room, which also offer double sinks. Select rooms have lake views, a minibar, and air conditioning.
Breakfast Room
The breakfast room has wooden tables, potted plants, olive-green chairs and curtains, and paintings. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room overlooking the lake. A continental breakfast buffet is available from 8 AM to 10 AM with hot drinks served at the table. Gluten-free products are available upon request.
Activities and Excursions
Hotel Garni Corona is near the Greenway (10 kilometers) connecting Menaggio to Colonno. Guests can visit Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo and Villa del Balbianello in Lenno. The Argegno-Pigra cable car offers views of Lake Como. The hotel is near trail tracks for day trips by car, boat, or mountain bike. The harbor is a six-minute walk. Guests can take a 700-metre stroll along the lakeside promenade. There is also a public beach that hosts musical events, art exhibitions and craft markets.
Location and Transport
Hotel Garni Corona is located in Menaggio, on the west bank of Lake Como. The family-run hotel is at the start of a valley connecting to Lake Lugano. The hotel is in the main piazza, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and bars. The bus stop and pier are a 5-minute walk. From Milano Centrale Station, take the train to Como S.Giovanni or to Varenna-Esino. From Como Nord Lago every hour the ASF C10 bus line depart to Menaggio (1 hour and 10 min. journey approx. ) or, at about 100m there is the pier from where boats and hydrofoils leave for Menaggio.
Hotel Services
Check-in is from 3 PM to 7 PM, and check-out is from 8.30 AM to 11 AM. Luggage storage is available. Check-in after 9 PM requires prior arrangement. The reception area is furnished with 19th-century antiques, styled after a 1930s pharmacy. The tourist office is conveniently located for information on itineraries. The hotel is in a pedestrian zone; guests can stop briefly in front to load/unload luggage. Public parking is a short walk; metered spaces cost 1 euro per hour (8 AM to 8 PM), and free parking is about 600 meters away.
