Highlights

Location: Picturesque village green in Long Sutton

Accommodation: Nine bedrooms with en-suite facilities

Dining: Restaurant using locally sourced ingredients

Bar: Extensive selection of local ales and wines

“Devonshire Arms, a Grade II-listed former hunting lodge in Langport, strikes me as a proper base for exploring the Somerset Levels. I picture myself returning after a day of walking and cycling to enjoy the locally sourced food and extensive selection of ales in the garden. However, some rooms may present noise and lighting issues; for a quieter stay, I'd advise inquiring about rooms away from the bar and service areas.”

The room was clean and fresh. It was equipped with all the basics I needed (such as a hairdryer and toiletries) and was well sized. The restaurant provided great food made with local ingredients and decent wines.
Nobody told me how to enter at night when the main entrance was closed. there was insufficient lighting where the back door entry was. Small things, but important.
