dinner variety great breakfast dim lighting broken door
The dinner near the lake was lovely. I saw wild crocodiles from the platform. The food was AMAZING and there was GREAT variety for breakfast. I loved the puddings, though, a TRUE romantic taste!
the LIGHTING in my room was too dim for my liking. I had difficulty seeing inside my luggage. My bathroom door was broken, AND the shower attachments were a little rusty. It was NOT ideal.

liquor laws unpleasant pool
the liquor laws really upset me as a tourist. not serving liquor on poya days is frustrating. the bar closed early and there wasn't a lot to do. the beach wasn't for swimming because of the rough water. the safari didn't have many animals, so i cut my stay short. the wind also made the pool unpleasant. i would call this boring day.

charming wildlife encounter!
open-air dining helpful staff smooth arrangement knowledgeable guides
The location beside the national park was excellent. we saw monkeys on the hotel and a wild boar near our chalet. It was a unique experience. the rooms were clean with designs blending in with the surroundings. the open-air dining was lovely and eating breakfast while watching wildlife was something special. the staff were warm and helpful, they guided us at night. chef nandana was superb with his buffets. the hotel smoothly arranged our safari with knowledgeable guides who respected the animals' space.
the path to the room was muddy. but that's nature, i suppose. the wifi signal could have been stronger. i hope they fix this soon!

the chalet offered a king-size bed and safari decor! a welcome drink cooled us after our travels. we enjoyed two sinks plus a rainfall shower after our safari.

Solid stay in the jungle
prime location short walk friendly staff great comfort
The location is prime, close to national park. The path to a sandy beach is short, perfect for walks. The pool is nice, surrounded by nature, staff are very friendly. I enjoyed the nature, also the comfort.
The liquor laws were inconvenient, there was no alcohol served on Poya day. The bar closed early, so there was few to do but walking around.

The Jungle Chalet King Safari had a princess bed and modern design. The house was beautiful, but the rooms are small. The chalet included all necessary amenities.

The breakfast was okay, but the lunch at the pool restaurant had few kids options. The beef noodles had hard beef, and the chef agreed with this. I loved the sweet dosa's in the morning.

useful feature mosquito net stargazing experience missing tile black leather
i stayed in a jungle chalet king safari. the room included air conditioning and a mosquito net, very useful features. i appreciated complimentary cocktails when i booked during the stargazing experience, it was a plus.
the pool area had some missing tiles. the black leather padded seats for the sun chairs got very hot in the sun..

amazing stay close TO nature
safari trips buffet dinner friendly manager
The hotel arranged excellent safari trips. I found the guide very knowledgeable. The buffet dinner included a variety of sri lankan foods. Mrlasanthan, the residence manager, was friendly.
