“Buffalo Mountain Lodge distinguishes itself with a prime location removed from Banff's bustle, nestled on Tunnel Mountain, ideal for those seeking tranquility and mountain vistas. The recently renovated Prow restaurant, emphasizing Rocky Mountain cuisine, stood out in my research, and the pet-friendly rooms cater to travelers with furry companions, though availability may be limited. While some past visitors mention inconsistencies in cleanliness, the overall experience, framed by wood-burning fireplaces and mountain air, offers a unique, if sometimes imperfect, escape.”

I appreciated the complimentary parking. The breakfast at the restaurant was very good (especially the breakfast potatoes). The outdoor hot tub provided a relaxing experience after a day outdoors.
The absence of free bus passes was a drawback, since other hotels in the area provide them.
