a perfect end to the trail

warm fire delicious food

finishing the pennine way was such a treat, and the pub below was so cute. i had such a warm welcome and really appreciated the fire, especially after all those days of walking. the food was also so delicious, with a good pub experience.

the room felt quite dated, i'd say the furniture and beds could use an update. there were also some cobwebs, and i noticed dirty marks on the walls.

I appreciated the bath in the bathroom. I used it quite a bit. The team was friendly. I found the food hearty.

The shower pressure was very low. The hairdryer blew only cold air, not ideal. The room felt cold at breakfast.

Excellent Hotel for Walkers

boot dryer friendly welcome standard menu amazing chips

After a day walking, a boot dryer existed. A friendly woman at the bar gave us certificates for completing the Pennine Way. The food was served in evenings and the menu was standard. The chips are amazing I think.

I did wash my hair, but the shower had too little pressure, this was bad. Then, the hairdryer only blew cold air, I did not like this. It took a very long time to dry my hair.

The bar has darts and lots of games. The games are available to borrow. Live music plays at the weekend. You can't hear it from the rooms.
