Really good Scottish Borders Stay
extra beds quirky touches
I stayed in one of the cottages behind the main building. IT included extra beds perfect for family stays. The grounds featured some quirky touches I FOUND good. Food service was first class. The rooms were also immaculate.
During my visit, the number of signs placed around the grounds felt excessive. even the umbrella in the wardrobe had a reminder. I thought this was quite excessive.

The location provided a peaceful setting with GREEN pastures full of sheep. The hotel's setting is beautiful. This creates a relaxing atmosphere away from city noise.

the staff welcomed me warmly. breakfast stood out with local ingredients cooked perfectly. it was substantial. i didn't need another meal until dinner.
i found discarded chest freezer at the entrance to the garden. there were lots of 'do not' notices around. the umbrella in the wardrobe even had a tag.

Mixed Experience due to Service and Dinner
long wait inedible food
The breakfast was available as a made to order service.
I had dinner at the hotel. I waited 30 minutes for someone to take my order , and then two hours passed before the food finally arrived. The food quality was appalling as it was almost inedible.

rigid breakfast excessive notices
The breakfast service felt rigid. i had TO pre-order every item individually, even the number of bacon rashers. it seemed like filling out a form more than a relaxing hotel breakfast. also, the 'do not' notices everywhere felt excessive. Even the umbrella had a tag, it felt a little unwelcoming.
