The staff interactions were charming. the room had a coffee machine, a fridge stocked with milk and water. a gift basket. I found these touches good. crisps were very welcome after my long walk!

upon arrival, i noticed major water replacement works were underway near the building. i think the hotel could have told me beforehand. these works caused disruption and noise from early morning until late.

The heating in my room was insufficient. It was hidden behind shelves and a wardrobe, ineffective. the stairs leading to the rooms also lacked sufficient heating. it was uncomfortably cold throughout the stay.

The radiators were centrally controlled and remained cool despite my request to turn them up. The room was cold! the shower didn't work properly either, it fluctuated between temperatures but was mainly cold.

The hotel had such a lovely, central location. it made exploring so easy. the staff were so friendly and helpful. They were great. i found the food fabulous, especially the steak pie. It was a wonderful culinary experience.
