Drinks are included. The main menu includes light bites, classics, and desserts, with vegan and vegetarian options. Under 10s eat for £1. Yorkie Café & Bar is open to the public from 11:00 - 20:30, Monday to Sunday. There are onsite restaurants.

Nearby landmarks include Clifford's Tower (2 km), York Art Gallery (2 km), Yorkshire Museum (2 km), Bootham Crescent (1 km), The Hospitium (2 km), St Wilfrid's Catholic Church (2 km), York Castle Museum (2 km), York Museum Gardens (2 km), York's Chocolate Story (2 km), and York Minster (2 km). The hostel is near a bus stop. To arrive by car, from the city centre take the A19 north, turning left at the Old Grey Mare onto Water End, then 300m. The nearest rail station is York, 1.5 miles away. Manchester also benefits from a Metroshuttle service, free bus routes which operate in certain areas, including close to YHA Manchester.

YHA York offers a 24-hour reception. Breakfast is served from 07:30 - 09:00 on weekdays and 07:30 - 10:00 at weekends. Meals are also available from 10:00 - 20:30. There is parking at the hostel.
