“The multi-million pound spa, complete with a snowstorm experience, sets this historic coaching inn apart. Dining excels here, the superb Grimsby Haddock on the St Ledger Bistro menu and a well-regarded breakfast demonstrate serious culinary commitment. Rooms, though individually styled and comfortable, could use bathroom upgrades to match the rest of the experience; however, the attentive staff and tranquil setting offer a consistently relaxing visit.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Guests often praise the spacious and comfortable rooms at Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa, with some highlighting rooms in single-story buildings that offer convenient parking. Dining experiences frequently receive positive mentions, particularly the high standard of dishes like seafood and cheese sharing plates, as well as breakfast and evening meals. While generally appreciated, some guests have occasionally found certain bar meal items overpriced. Overall, it's a popular choice for those traveling to Norfolk, thanks to its secluded yet accessible location near major roads, and especially for those looking to enjoy the adjacent spa.

Excellent stay!

warm staff excellent food historic building
I stayed for a few nights. The staff were warm and helpful. The breakfast menu offered a great choice. The public areas are well maintained, showcasing the building's history. The shower was HOT!!!
The tv was small for such a large room. The tv was too far away from the bed. It was difficult to see it from afar. I had issues with the wifi. It connected, but the connection was not stable.
Dining
9/10
The dinner menu had diverse selections, with both classic and innovative dishes. The ingredients were fresh. Presentation was professional, reflecting the care and attention to detail in the kitchen.
Rooms
8/10
The room was spacious, offering ample space for luggage and movement. Tea and coffee making facilities were convenient. A hot shower and comfy bed contributed to a relaxing and restful stay.

Wonderful Spa Experience

traditional hotel comfy bed hot shower excellent meal
I enjoyed the large traditional hotel with its well kept grounds. The bedroom had a good size, and the bathroom was adequate. The bed was comfy, and the hot shower was lovely. The Christmas decorations throughout the hotel were beautiful. The meal at the Bistro was excellent with perfectly cooked scallops.
The Wi-Fi connected, but it would not stay on so it was difficult to work with. I think it was too far away from the server.
Rooms
8/10
The classic single room had a double bed and antique style furniture. the lighting was a bit poor. Spotlights in the ceiling made putting on makeup difficult, frustrating as I prepared for the evening entertainment.
