the rooms were warm and comfortable. i requested a bath with our double bed room, the hotel accommodated my request at late notice. breakfast was also very good, it was well cooked.
The receptionist questioned why i didn't want to pay the service charge. I found this unfair. she embarrassed me by questioning my choice. discretionary means i can choose to pay or not pay it. I don't want to be grilled about it.

pleasant surprisehandy touch
the room featured a king room. a range of toiletries were available in the bathroom , a very handy touch.
the staircase to access the bedrooms was quite steep , which could be challenging for those with mobility issues.

The room was spacious and well-kept. I found the facilities great, especially the parking. The open fires made the atmosphere really cozy. I appreciate that it is dog-friendly as well.
I noticed a very slight delay when the butter for my toast arrived at breakfast.

The King Room featured a very comfortable bed. The shower provided excellent water pressure. Necessary facilities were present, I found that this included ample storage space. It was spotlessly clean.

This hotel has a lovely rural location, and it offers convenient parking . I noticed that open fires provided a warm atmosphere, and there are designated areas for dog owners. This allows pets to feel at home.

Underwhelming stay. Some issues noted
small roomforced service
The room i was given felt quite small. there wasn't much space to move around the bed, though it was reasonably comfortable. It was not superior. the service charge felt a bit forced. the receptionist questioned my decision to remove it, made me uncomfortable. i think discretionary should mean without pressure.

The room was small. There was one bath towel, I believe. The window was rotten, you see. I found a lady behind the bar to be abrasive with customers. She told me, "sorry called last orders 15 minutes ago", yet she didn't actually call last orders. That's not the law.
