Thornbury Castle - A Relais & Chateaux Hotel, immerses you in uniquely realized rooms. Each room features heating, tea and coffee facilities, sitting area, garden furniture, and Wi-Fi. Some rooms in the South Wing offer views of the oldest Tudor garden in England, while others overlook the ancient courtyard. The Tower Suite, at the top of the main tower, includes 24-carat gilding and silk wall hangings, with views over South Gloucestershire and the River Severn. Spacious rooms feature four-poster beds and open fires. Suites include en suite bathrooms, TVs, and fireplaces. The Catherine of Aragon Suite features 24-carat gilding and the largest four-poster bed in any UK hotel. Stay in the very room that King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn shared in 1535.
Dining in Royal Surroundings
The 3AA rosette restaurant at Thornbury Castle offers British-inspired cuisine. Executive Chef Carl Cleghorn and Food & Beverage Manager Frederic Bellard lead a talented team. Dinner service is from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. A Three-Course Dinner Menu offers seasonal dishes with ingredients from the kitchen garden. Afternoon Tea (£45 pp) is available daily from 1-4 PM. A lunch menu is available in the library and lounge areas, with a children's menu. For special occasions, private dining rooms of various sizes are available. The hotel's goal is to be a place where all guests can relax, enjoy themselves, and have a break from normal life. A delicious buffet breakfast is served, and a four-course Gala Farewell dinner is available from 7:30 PM, with entertainment by an acoustic guitarist.
