I appreciate that it features two award-winning restaurants, plus a private walled garden that's unusual for a city hotel. the location was acceptable.
I found the room rather small. the furnishings seemed quite dated. The curtains even had paint stains on them. the shower over the bath was not adequate. The bath also drained very slowly.

the location was good. i could easily walk to nearby cafes. the room included nice tea and coffee. it even had a cafetiere rather than instant coffee.
the staff member at reception seemed ineffectual. they did not appear to care. parking was an issue, spaces were difficult to find. there were only seven cramped parking slots.

An Acceptable Hotel Stay

great locationhelpful staffpeaceful atmospheresteep staircasenoise leveluncomfortable bed
The location had shops and cafes nearby. I was contacted prior to my stay to confirm parking. The room overlooked the rear of the hotel. It was peaceful.
The room was on the top floor. There were multiple staircases. One staircase was really steep. I could hear banging from other guests in the hallway.
