Mixed experience. Some issues noted

limited hot waterunclean windows
I was not pleased with the limited hot water in the shower. staff explained it was due to high demand from a large family. it was never resolved despite being looked at. the shower issue detracted from an otherwise acceptable stay. also, the windows were not clean. The view was obstructed by grime and dirt. this.

central locationgood breakfastbottled waterunattentive staffinsecure windowtired room
The location is excellent. It is very central. breakfast was good with lots of choices. i received bottled water in the room each day and that was good.
The younger staff members did not make eye contact. They were doing their own things. my window opened onto a fire escape, not secure. the decoration in the rooms seemed tired and not lovely.

Really good stay

I appreciated the room's view overlooking the castle and square (it was picturesque!). The breakfast each morning included gluten-free options which was great for me. One evening, we were treated to traditional Manx musicians performing in the pub. I found the staff very helpful and attentive.
The heated towel rail in the bathroom could not be turned off, making the room warm.

The hotel is centrally located, near bus stops. A short walk leads to the steam train station, offering access to various parts of the island. The convenience of the location certainly enhanced our exploration.
Rooms

Our king room featured large windows with castle views. The room provided bottled water. The bathroom had clean, big, white towels. The space was quiet after the bar closed, and this ensured a restful night.

The hotel has a restaurant where we enjoyed breakfast. A private car park is available to the rear of the building, very convenient with vehicles. A co-op is located next door and it is useful.

pleasant breakfastloud musicold windows
The breakfast was pleasant. The coffee was certainly hot.
My room faced the front, and some nearby bar played loud music until after midnight. It was hard to ignore, even with the tv volume cranked up. the windows seemed old and let a lot of noise through. drunken patrons outside added to the cacophony after the music finally stopped. I did not sleep well.

The location was acceptable. It was near local amenities.
the room smelled strongly, and it made eating breakfast difficult. i also found the stairs difficult to manage because of a previous knee operation. i wasn't informed about the lack of a lift when i booked the room.
