The Folly, located behind The Crown Inn, offers 11 bedrooms. All bedrooms feature en suite bathrooms. Guests can reserve Good, Better, Even Better, or Best rooms. Better rooms include a TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. Good rooms are on the ground floor and feature a King Size bed, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and walk-in shower. Polstead is a fully accessible bedroom, including a level wet room. Higham is a downstairs bedroom with King Size bed with French windows leading out to its own terrace. Dedham, the Best room, is a downstairs room with a Super King Size bed, TV, seating area and a separate bathtub and walk-in shower and French windows that lead out to its own terrace with countryside views. Layham features a Super King Size bed (that can be twinned) and a power shower over the bathtub. Shelley offers a King Size bed and a power shower over the bathtub. Mistley offers a Super King bed, a bathtub and walk-in shower. Flatford is an upstairs bedroom with Super King bed and includes a seating area.
Food and drink
The Crown Inn offers a regularly changing 'Catch of the day' menu. The dishes prepared with regional and local suppliers, and pub classics. Award winning cheeses, local vegetables and home-grown meats are incorporated into the dishes. Vegan and gluten free options are available, as well as Sunday roasts and fresh seafood. The cellar features over 250 wines, with over 30 available by the glass. There is also a wine shop. Guests can enjoy a selection of beers, real ales, music and street food between 1pm and 9pm on specific dates. The Garden Tipi will be the setting for events over the warmer months, including Cinema Nights and a Coronation Festival.
Inn highlights
The Crown Inn provides complimentary high-speed broadband WIFI. The Garden Tipi is available for private events, weddings, and birthday parties. Afternoon Tea is served in the Garden Tipi from 3pm to 5pm, featuring finger sandwiches, savories, scones with clotted cream, jam, and sweet treats. From 24th May, the Field Kitchen will be open every Friday and Saturday throughout the summer, serving street food in the garden. Dogs are welcome, and the inn offers a Muddy Paws overnight stay package and a special dog menu.
