GreyFriars provides 26 bedrooms, including Grand Luxe Signature Suites, Deluxe Suites, and Junior Suites. Rooms feature marble bathrooms or shower rooms. Junior Suites offer a coffee table, seating, and desk space, with bath and single or twin showers. One Junior Suite is wheelchair accessible and includes a private courtyard. Split-level suites feature bespoke wallpaper, a seating/study area, and Italian marble shower rooms. Rooms include tea and Nespresso coffee facilities, air conditioning, and a mini-bar. Some Club Rooms have views of Colchester Castle and the Colne Valley. There is a fully accessible room for wheelchair users called The Courtyard Suite with super king size sleigh bed, with a level access to a spectacular bathroom with marble bath and level access shower with seat and a spacious private courtyard garden. The All Saints Suite is located on the first floor of All Saints House and evokes the atmosphere of a past era, with views of St James's Church. The Vinoly Suite on the top floor of Hillcrest features views of Colchester's modern art gallery, a reception room, areas for sitting and relaxing, and a bathroom with twin showers and twin vanity units.
Dining Options
GreyFriars offers multiple dining options to suit varied preferences. All-day dining is available from the Brasserie menu in the lounges, Baroque Bar, and Terrace (weather permitting), from 10 a.m. 'til late. Table d'hôte and Brasserie menus are served in the Rose Room for lunch (Monday to Sunday) and dinner (Sunday to Thursday). The À la carte menu is available in the Rose Room for lunch (Friday & Saturday) and for dinner (Thursday to Sunday). Lunch is served from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cloisters features modern European dishes with British touches, using ingredients like Mersea Island oysters, East Anglian lamb, Lambton & Jackson Maldon smoked salmon, and Dingley Dell pork. Afternoon Tea is served Wednesday to Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., in Cloisters and the Rose Room. It includes sandwiches, pâtisserie, and scones, accompanied by JING teas or champagne.
Bar, Lounges & Terrace
The Baroque Bar, Venetian Lounge, and Library Lounge are located in the original C18th core of GreyFriars. The main room opens onto a large terrace. A selection of champagnes, wines, and cocktails are available, along with a Brasserie menu. The Venetian and Library Lounges can be booked for occasions like After Work drinks or private Afternoon Tea. Dogs are welcome in the Baroque Bar and on the Terrace. The Salon is a room for private dining and meetings, seating up to 18 people. It features original panelling, cornicing, and a fireplace.

GreyFriars is at the top of East Hill, at the eastern end of Colchester's High Street, in Colchester's Cultural Quarter. Nearby landmarks include the Dutch Quarter (0.5 km), The Claudius Gateway (0.3 km), and The Castle Museum (0.5 km). Colchester North Station is accessible by taxi. London Stansted Airport is 55 km away. Free parking is available for hotel guests for 22 vehicles. There are three designated disabled parking bays a few meters from the North Entrance. The Cultural Quarter includes Colchester Castle, Hollytrees Museum, and the Natural History Museum. There is a direct entrance from Colchester High Street via the South Entrance.

Room 23, is fully accessible for wheelchair users with a marble floor, a Super King size sleigh bed and a luxurious bathroom with marble bath with transfer seat and level access shower with seat. A courtyard garden is included. Room 15 on the second floor suits those with ambulatory challenges. There are vibrating pillow pads with strobe lighting for guests with visual or hearing impairment. Wheelchair access to the Cigar Lounge is via a retracting staircase off Reception. Guide dogs are welcome. Staff can provide enlarged print menus upon request.
