surprised by the stay

The hotel location is GREAT and the staff are friendly. Breakfast had many options and a great choice of items. I also appreciated the beautiful views from all areas of the building, including the rooms and restaurant, great for walks along the coast.
I booked a room with a balcony though the door wouldn't open when I arrived. I was told it was locked due to storm damage!

The hotel provides both an outdoor and an indoor pool . The outdoor pool is open seasonally. There is also a spa area, which provides different treatments like massages and facials, all contributing to a relaxing stay. It is a historical building that is very well maintained.

The room included comfy beds and the cleaning staff did a great job . The sea views from the rooms are amazing! the bathroom was also clean. It was good value for money based upon the venue.

the room was a suite that had an excellent sea view it was spacious i enjoyed sitting on the sofa. the breakfast was great it was a cooked breakfast. the staff were very friendly and always happy to help.
the tv in the bedroom was small it made it hard to see properly from the bed.

The room showed age and required refurbishment. The bath and shower diverter proved outdated. No extractor fan was present in the bathroom. This was a distinct drawback.

the location was good with views all around.
The room felt dated. some equipment was broken, for instance the shower controls needed a towel to avoid scratching your fingers. I found this very annoying. also, the hotel exterior looked dilapidated, and i think the facilities could use better maintenance.

The room included a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. They restocked these items every day, it was very convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. the room was cleaned daily. I found that nothing was too much trouble for them.
The hotel lights in my room would not turn off. I was moved to a different room promptly, though it was already 11 pm. I was then awoken at 4.30 AM by the fire alarm. No explanation for this alarm was offered.
