Landmarks within 3.5 km include the Fireboat Firefighter Museum, Camera Obscura, East End Seaport Maritime Museum, Wades Beach, Greenport Antique Carousel, Greenport, Havens House, Railroad Museum of Long Island, Shelter Island, and Sylvester Manor Educational Farm. Long Island MacArthur Airport is 85 km away. The North Ferry and South Ferry accommodate passengers and vehicles, running every five to ten minutes. Luxury buses provide connections from La Guardia and JFK airports via the North Fork Line to Greenport. The Long Island Railroad offers train service from New York City to Greenport, accessible from JFK airport via the AirTrain to Jamaica station. From Bridgeport, Connecticut, the Bridgeport - Port Jefferson Ferry connects to Port Jefferson, a one-hour drive to Greenport or North Haven.

Seven on Shelter Island offers a business center. Check-in time is 3:30 PM. The deposit is fully refundable 30 days (or more) before arrival. A three-night minimum stay is required during the summer months, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Smoking is permitted on the lawn and upstairs balcony only; a $250 cleaning charge applies for smoking in rooms. There are no specific services marketed to children under 13 years old.
