Rothay Manor offers individually designed bedrooms. Room options range from Classic Rooms to Pavilion Suites. Kirkstone, a Classic room, is located on the ground floor and includes a private terrace. Superior rooms are located on the first floor and feature balconies that overlook the gardens. Suites include a flat-screen TV with SKY, complimentary Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, and Bath House toiletries. Pavilion Garden Suites feature a private courtyard garden. Pavilion Junior Suites include super-king/twin beds and a bathroom with a free-standing bath, twin sinks, and a separate shower. The Pavilion Junior Suite with Balcony offers views of Wansfell Pike. All rooms have private bathroom with separate tub and shower, free toiletries, and AM/FM alarm clock.
Dining at Manor
The restaurant at Rothay Manor serves meals prepared with local, seasonal produce. A traditional Sunday Lunch is served on Sundays. Afternoon Tea includes sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and home-made jam, and mini cakes and desserts. It is served Monday - Saturday 1pm - 3:30pm and is priced at £29 per person. The bistro menu includes pork belly with white bean cassoulet, and skate wing with brown shrimp beurre noisette. Breakfast includes truffled mushrooms, kedgeree, and smoked salmon with avocado as well as a full Cumbrian or vegetarian grill. Daniel has developed a menu which uses the very best of local, seasonal ingredients. The interiors of the restaurant have been designed to with wood paneling, stunning Lewis and Wood wallpaper, and hardwood floor.

Rothay Manor is near Lake Windermere, where guests can enjoy paddleboarding, wake-boarding, sailing, and lake cruises. The Windermere Jetty Museum is nearby. The hotel is a base for hiking in the Lake District National Park and is near Ambleside Roman Fort, Rydal Mount, and Stock Ghyll Force. Vicki and Louie's Guided Walks can help you tackle some of the big mountains, lead you on paths less travelled or even just guide you on some low-level valley walks, depending on your experience and fitness. Location and access
Rothay Manor is located on the western outskirts of Ambleside, 80 km from Carlisle Lake District Airport. It is a 10-minute walk to the town center and the lake. The hotel is situated on a level site and 1/4 mile in the opposite direction to the head of Windermere Lake with good, level pathways to both the town and the lake, with lowered curbs that allow easy wheelchair access. The center of town is a 5 - 10 minute walk away. Windermere station is 5 miles away. Buses and taxis are available there.

Rothay Manor welcomes dogs for £25 per dog per stay, including a George Barclay dog bed, towel, bowl, treats, and poo bags.
