Plas Dolguog is often praised for its peaceful location near Machynlleth, offering nice views of the hills, sometimes seen from a rooftop terrace. Many guests enjoy the tasty breakfast and some have particularly appreciated the deli platter offered for supper. underwhelming stay

faulty shower no heating
the heating wasn't working when i got there it only started working after i left the following day. it was quite cold that night. also the walk-in-shower caused flooding in the bathroom the water did not drain fast enough. i told the manager about it and he apologized but the issues detracted from the experience

mediocre stay, some issues

broken tv missing staff
the location seemed alright, kinda quiet i suppose. A honesty bar WAS there, filled with some standard beverages.
I had problems WITH the tv in the room. there were no staff around, so i called and the woman said she couldn't come until later but her husband might come at 8pm. He didn't. the bin had old rubbish, like EMPTY cider cans.

missing key skipped service
I had some issues . The TV remote didn't work at first, but staff replaced batteries quickly when I asked? there was no key for the veranda door in my room, and , made me worry. I didn't feel totally secure with my belongings in there. Housekeeping also skipped my room one day. Considering what I paid I found that unacceptable.

quiet location comfortable bed dog friendly in view limited options strange policy
The building is beautiful and it sits in a quite location. Check in was easy and its great the hotel welcomes dogs. The bed was comfy and I liked the temperature in the room.
Instructions to get into the room weren't in view, that was annoying. The best parts of the hotel are off limits to guests, that seems strange.
