happy with oakland's saturday night surprise

oaklands worked well for me because i had a party locally. the lady at reception mentioned the room was above the group playing saturday night until 12pm. my party finished at 10pm and i enjoyed the live music and great atmosphere afterward. i had a nice breakfast the next morning too.

i found only three plugs in the whole room and all were in use. the tv and kettle were plugged in and the rest were taped up. i could not use them.

the hotel features a pub downstairs that creates a wonderful vibe with reasonably priced drinks. offsite parking is plentiful offering convenient access. reception staff gave helpful directions upon check in easing my arrival.

the room was very clean (i really appreciated that). the shower pressure was great and easy to use. breakfast had plenty of choices for food and drink.

i would like to mention the bathroom lacked a handle bar near the bath, i didn't feel safe.

the noise insulation was awful. i could hear everything from the adjacent rooms. it sounded like the tv was in my room, even late at night. also, there were hardly any parking spots available. only three for all the guests!

the staff was friendly, and the location was easily accessible.

My room was uncomfortably hot. The window barely opened. i also noticed a worrying smell of weed. the parking situation was difficult. The hotel parking was full, so i parked down the road. i don't think i'll stay here again.
