The Mermaid Inn features 31 unique rooms, each named after figures from Rye's history. Rooms include a TV, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have either an en-suite bathroom or shower room with free toiletries. Two rooms are on the top floor. Some rooms feature carved beds, fine oakwood paneling, Caen stone fireplaces, and latticed windows. Some second-story rooms have curved timbers supporting the ceilings, offering unique views of Rye.
Dining Experience
The Mermaid Inn offers dining in the 2 AA Rosette Linen Fold Panelled Restaurant. Guests can enjoy meals in the large restaurant, the Dr Syn Dining Room, or the Boardroom. Dinner is served from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, with a menu featuring local produce. The Bar Menu is available in the Restaurant, Giants Fireplace Bar, and the Patio from 12 PM to 2:30 PM every day, and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Lunch is served from 12 PM to 2:30 PM. Breakfast is served from 8 AM to 10 AM, offering both Continental and Full English options. The bar extends out onto 3 patio areas. The Tudor Bar can seat up to 50 people.
Leisure and Tours
Guests can relax in Dr Syn's Lounge and the Small Lounge. The Giant's Fireplace Bar offers a selection of beers, wines, and whiskies. Guests can take guided tours through the 600-year-old building to explore the Linen Fold Panelled Restaurant, The Giants' Fireplace Bar, Dr Syns Lounge, the Elizabethan Bed Chamber, and Dr Syns Bed Chamber, where the secret passageway behind the bookcase is open, revealing the Priest Hole. A unique feature is the Rye Castle Museum, founded by an author and artist, featuring the Hawkhurst Gang.

The Mermaid Inn is situated on the A259 east of Hastings, a short drive from the M20 at Ashford via the A2070, and from the A21 via the B2089 to Rye. London Gatwick Airport is 100 km away. On-site parking is available for 25 cars, with public parking nearby. Rye is served by The Marshlink Train, which operates between Ashford International and Brighton; travel time from St Pancras to Rye is one hour, and the station is a 5-minute walk to the inn. Nearby landmarks include Rye Art Gallery (0.3 km), Mermaid Street (0.3 km), and St Mary's Church (0.3 km).
