Ground floor bedrooms have shuttered French doors opening onto verandas. Recent refurbishment includes updated linen and bathroom facilities.

The Lord Milner Hotel dining room holds a true sense of history. Another restaurant option offers freshly baked scones, pastries, and light lunches in its courtyard, complete with a fountain. Onsite restaurant is available.
Leisure and Activities
Matjiesfontein provides outdoor activities such as tennis, mountain biking on a 20km track with views of the Witteberg Mountains, and swimming in the large pool. Guests can stargaze from the historic cricket pitch. A tennis court is available. Guests can visit the Transport Museum and Marie Rawdon Museum, which houses vintage cars and artifacts from the Anglo-Boer War. A historical tour around Matjiesfontein is available on an old red double-decker London bus with Johnny, a local entertainer.

Located in Matjiesfontein in the Western Cape's Central Karoo region, the Lord Milner Hotel is near landmarks such as The Marie Rawdon Museum (0.3 km), Snake Eagle Thinking Path (0.5 km), and Tweedside Lodge (0.3 km). Matjiesfontein will host one of three communications antennas for NASA's Artemis spacecraft.
