Montagu Country Hotel, an Art Deco hotel established in 1875, is on Route 62, near the Langeberg Mountains. This pet-friendly hotel is 2 hours from Cape Town, halfway between the Cape Winelands and the Garden Route. The hotel provides an electric vehicle charging point.

The hotel provides Art Deco and Victorian rooms. Rooms offer views of the Langeberg Mountains or the garden. Available are African huts and self-catering units with kitchenettes. All rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Some rooms are in a Victorian villa in the garden. Some units include air conditioning, dining area and kitchenware.
Dining venues
Charlestons Restaurant provides traditional cuisine with wines from the area. Breakfast includes eggs, scones, and a cold buffet. Feathers & Flatcaps serves coffee, burgers, milkshakes, craft beers, and cocktails. Chef Kristine Moodie uses local ingredients from the Breede River valley. The hotel provides home-cooked meals prepared by Chef Werner.

The hotel has two swimming pools and gardens. The Montagu spa provides beauty and relaxation therapies, couples massages, nail treatments, and a mineral jacuzzi bath. Guests can experience an infrared sauna and mineral Jacuzzi. Organic skincare from Esse is featured.
Location and activities
The hotel is near hiking trails and cycling routes. Guests can book wine tours in a 1956 or 1964 Cadillac. Nearby landmarks include Leidam Bird Sanctuary (0.5 km), Capedry Montagu Farmstall (1.5 km), and Montagu Museum (0.5 km). Flying Feet offers guided town tours. Avalon Springs, with indoor and outdoor pools, is reopening soon.
