“Killaloe Hotel & Spa's setting on Lough Derg is undeniably a draw, though some may find the interiors a touch dated. While the spa aims for holistic wellness, some guests might find certain aspects, like the bar area, not quite hitting the mark for a traditional Irish experience. Overall, it strikes me as a spot with genuine potential, especially for lakeside leisure.”

The breakfast is a highlight, often described as excellent, with options like a fresh-cooked full Irish fry and waffles. The hotel's location is also well-regarded, especially its proximity to the river and the lovely garden near the marina; though a few guests have mentioned that some of the furniture could use refreshing. A Solid Stay with Noteworthy Features

freshly cooked breakfastattentive servicebeautiful gardenmissing pillows
I found the breakfast to be freshly cooked each morning. The staff offered attentive service and were generally very helpful. I particularly enjoyed that my room overlooked the beautiful garden (it added a lot to the stay).
I noticed that the hotel lacked spare pillows upon request one evening. This was a minor inconvenience, as I only received one pillow an hour after asking. Hopefully, this is an issue that can be easily addressed.
Rooms

The beds were comfy (I slept very well ). The rooms were also beautifully clean. A large mirror was placed inside the room.
Dining
8/10
The restaurant offered delicious dinners and good value for money. Breakfast was available with a wide choice of food. The menu also presented a broad selection of dishes.
