The Idle Rocks has 19 rooms, each uniquely designed. Grand Seaview Rooms are the largest, featuring views of the water and bathrooms with a bath or shower. Harbour View Rooms are in the cottage building or on the top floor of the main building, all providing views of the harbor and showers. Seaview Rooms offer French doors or windows overlooking the sea and bathrooms with a shower or bath. The Seaview Family Room accommodates two adults and two children in a bunk bed and features a free-standing bath. Village Hideaway Rooms have views of St Mawes village and bathrooms with a shower or bath. Village Cosy Rooms include nautical decor, a double bed, and an ensuite shower room. Rooms include flat-screen TVs, vintage radios, Cornish tea, Nespresso coffee makers, and bathrooms with a bath or shower.
Cornish cuisine
The Reef Knot Restaurant serves Cornish cuisine with fish caught daily by St Mawes fisherman Gareth Austin. The restaurant has views across the Fal Estuary and a south-facing terrace. There is a seven-course Signature Menu created by Executive Head Chef Dorian Janmaat, featuring ingredients from land and sea. The Lower Deck Bar & Upper Deck Restaurant at the St Mawes Hotel features dishes that showcase Cornish ingredients. Special Easter Sunday Lunch is available. Guests can enjoy scones, homemade strawberry jam, Cornish clotted cream, and Knightor Classic Cuvée.

The Reef Knot Retreat treatment room offers massages with Aromatherapy Associates oils. SEVAN Spa offers treatments and wellness journeys. The Refinery Essential Facial uses oils of inca inchi and larch extract. A treatment includes exfoliation and layering of rose products. A deep cleanse back treatment includes a massage with essential oils of black pepper, ginger, rosemary, and lavender. Massages with Aromatherapy Associates oils are available. The treatment includes guided breathing, exfoliation, and rose products. Full scalp and facial massages are available, with treatment oil chosen for the skin.
Location and Access
The Idle Rocks is located in St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula, 50 km from Newquay. It provides access to Cornish landmarks, including Falmouth, St Anthony Lighthouse, and Porthscatho. Guests can explore beaches, pubs, and coastal walks by foot, ferry, RIB, or kayak. Classic Morgans can be hired. It is voted the best seaside resort in the UK.
