“The hotel's downtown location is a definitive asset, as is the conservatory-style breakfast room; however, accessibility could be a concern with its stepped entrances. The comfortable rooms and helpful staff offset some of the dated aspects, making it a worthwhile consideration for those prioritizing location and service.”

excellent stay with great service

friendly staffincluded breakfastrelaxing massagestrong paint odor
I found the staff very friendly upon arrival. breakfast was included. It offered sufficient energy for the day. the spa provided a nice, relaxing massage, and i enjoyed high tea at the pendray teahouse next door.
the room we were assigned to had a strong odor of paint, and there was blood on the bathroom door frame. initially, the front desk claimed the room had not been painted (i was told that this was untrue by a cleaner). it took a bit of effort to be moved to a different room.
Rooms

the room was clean and spacious (i stayed in the standard room 2 queen beds newcastle). it included comfortable bedding and ample space for luggage. there were makeup wipes available in the bathroom, which i appreciated.
Dining
9/10
breakfast offered a good selection of items like eggs, breads, waffles, and meat. there was also a nice afternoon snack with hot cocoa available. i especially liked the waffles, freshly made and delicious.
Location
10/10
the hotel is within walking distance to the inner harbour and downtown areas. it is conveniently close to restaurants and attractions. the location made it easy to explore the area on foot (i walked everywhere!).
Service
8/10
the front desk staff were cute and helpful. the breakfast room staff were efficient and attentive. the staff addressed our concerns and found us another room, so the service was responsive (even though there was an initial issue).
