a bit meh, i suppose
uncomfortable mattressearly morning noise
Well, the bed. lets talk about it. it wasnt exactly what youd call 'comfortable'. the mattress seemed to have seen better days, and i suspect it moonlighted as a trampoline in its youth. then there's the noise. It was like living next to a furniture convention. i didnt sleep great the first night because there was noises at 4am. there were lots of noises that sounded like furniture moved.

i received a comfortable twin room. it came with a balcony where i enjoyed a glass of wine. i looked over to the penshaw monument! the staff were very helpful, even popping upstairs to get my phone when i left it during my meal.

The hotel offers excellent access to the northeast region. it is in a great position for visiting local attractions. the bus to durham leaves from just outside the hotel. It is frequent and runs late.

I found the staff quite friendly. Our room had a nice balcony. The shower provided a powerful water flow.
I had no major concerns. The breakfast selection was adequate, but not particularly extensive. The bed firmness could be an issue for some guests.

the hotel is a short drive to central car parks near durham. our family room accommodated three people comfortably. it was cleaned daily and offered ample space. i found the thai restaurant and pub and bar to have affordable prices for both food and drinks. the staff was friendly (i really appreciated that!), and were always helpful.
the beds were a little too firm for my liking, and the pillows weren't as comfortable as i'd hoped (i'm really picky about pillows!).

Check in was fast with lovely staff. my room was spacious and looked clean at first sight. the bed felt too firm and the pillows offered little support. the wifi signal was spotty. It kept disconnecting. breakfast felt restrictive. They use a tick sheet limiting my choices. the road noise outside was intense.

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady working at both check-in and the bar. The Thai food was a good surprise. My bed was big and comfy. The hotel provides a large car park that offers good convenience.
The car park can get a little crowded on saturdays with the restaurant being busy.
