Irton Hall is in the foothills of Lakeland's western fells, between Wasdale and Eskdale. It is a 10-minute drive from the Ravenglass Miniature Steam Railway and Muncaster Castle. The nearest shop, pub, and restaurant are one mile away. Carlisle Lake District Airport is 100 km away. The Langdale Pikes are to the east, accessed via Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass.

Irton Hall is pet-friendly, allowing pets in rooms and the bar. The Grey Lady Suite is available for civil weddings, receptions, parties, celebrations, and business events. It can accommodate up to 150 guests for a seated wedding breakfast. This venue includes a solid-wood dance floor, restrooms, a lounge area, and a licensed bar.
