The staff were friendly to every need. our room was decorated beautifully with a very large bathroom. breakfast was good. Traditional grimsby kippers made a change, as they were prepped and cooked correctly. i had ample parking.

some issues with dining experience

overcooked potatoesbland sea bass

i had dinner in the oak room , but it wasn't great. gentlemen were expected to wear a jacket , but one guest didn't and the staff didn't say anything. my wife's sea bass was bland and too small , especially for the price. the roast potatoes with my sirloin were overcooked , and the dessert trolley looked quite bare.

the staff throughout the hotel looked after me well. the breakfast was fabulous, a great way to start the day. i got a very nice room after i asked to change rooms initially.

There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. i found it unfathomable, especially for a luxury hotel! on the second day, i returned to find my bed had not been made. trays from room service were still in the room. This was quite disappointing though.
