The Cross Keys is often praised for its pleasant dining area and excellent, reasonably priced food, especially the tasty and varied cooked breakfasts. Guests appreciate the good-sized, comfortable rooms, often noting the large beds and well-positioned TVs, with many areas available to relax. Some guests have found the bathrooms a bit dated and the showers not powerful enough, but overall, the location is considered lovely, with plenty of parking and convenient access to Whitby and Saltburn.

The reception and restaurant staff were helpful. they were also very pleasant. Parking was plentiful, i easily accessed it! the location was excellent, it helped me a lot.
The room felt a little dated! it needs some usb sockets, i found no plug sockets at all near the beds. the shower went freezing whilst i was showering. I had a head full of shampoo.

Fantastic Staff, Delicious Breakfast!

friendly barmaiddelicious breakfasthuge bed
I enjoyed a friendly chat with the bar maid on Thursday night! I was also very grateful the chef still made my breakfast even though I was late. The room was really great, with a huge bed and a nice bath too.
The road outside was a bit noisy. Though nothing can be done about that, I suppose.

stuck plugterrible shower pressure
The sink in my room had a plug that just would not budge. i struggled with it for a bit, but it was completely stuck and i couldn't empty the sink. also the shower pressure was terrible, it was barely a trickle. they really need to fix these things. A proper shower is essential.
