I enjoyed the well-kept grounds. They have fields with sheep and horses. Parking was ample. There was a lovely view of the lake near the parking area. The staff's attentiveness toward every person I saw was friendly, professional, and courteous.
The hotel was busy so some delays were expected.

the building is superb. the room was very well appointed. it had everything you need. i overlooked the lake and had the windows open which was lovely.
the grounds are smaller than expected. you can hear the motorway nearby. the sitting rooms are not as comfortable as in many other similar places. it needs some board games.

underwhelming experience

loud parking lotslow breakfast service
the room i had was not great the window faced directly onto a parking lot it got noisy later in the evening i didn't sleep well because of the noise plus a toilet kept running it was a very annoying sound. the staff seemed stretched thin at breakfast service was slow coffee was just okay they could really use bigger coffee pots. this hotel has potential but it missed the mark this time for me

the setting and building looked beautiful, and the staff was friendly. i even got a free upgrade which meant i stayed in the main house.
the mamma mia evening was not at all as advertised and i was very disappointed. the singers seemed like amateurs and they only sang abba numbers badly. there was no greek ambience or background music for a greek themed evening.
