Absolutely Wonderful Stay!

fantastic room warm welcome

My stay included a fantastic room and great food. The staff gave me a warm welcome and focused on every detail. I noted plans to open for weekday lunch soon , which I think is a great idea. The location is also excellent.

housekeeping seemed a bit sparse with toiletries. The room needed more attention to ensure everything was well-stocked , but I am sure this can be addressed easily.

the staff were friendly and helpful .

I found several issues that affected my experience. The room seemed dated, with worn furniture and tired decor, plus, some of the electrical fittings looked like they needed attention. the lack of fine dining options within the hotel was disappointing. I had to go to the pub for meals.

fabulous breakfast lovely bedroom awful arrangement soulless pub

The breakfast was fabulous. It was plentiful and expertly cooked. the bedroom was lovely with a seating and dressing area, and a big bathroom had an amazing roll-top bath!!!

the food arrangements were awful. there was no lunch available on one day. i was told to eat at their pub over the road, but that was glum and soulless.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room included everything I needed like an iron and hairdryer. Fresh milk was in the mini bar. I also found some homemade shortbread biscuits there.

I thought there was a restaurant on site. I understood the restaurant was at a local pub upon arrival. It was nice but less fine dining. I had to book another restaurant for a special event that week.
