Highlights

Dining: Vue Restaurant with stunning views

Location: Close to Newton Abbot town center

Accommodation: 90 en-suite bedrooms with estuary views

Business: Five well-equipped function rooms

“The hotel strikes me as a versatile base for exploring Devon, particularly with its self-catering apartments that offer a bit more independence; the on-site 18th-century pub adds a layer of local charm. With the indoor pool and proximity to Dartmoor, it appeals to both leisure and business travelers, although some rooms appear to need refurbishment. It seems a conveniently situated property with some appealing amenities.”

decent stay with minor issues

suitable locationamiable staffsmall heaterphone placement
i found the location to be suitable for my travel needs. the food was very palatable , even with certain allergies. the staff were amiable and responsive , addressing a request for a bath mat replacement with dispatch. it was GOOD to note that my initially assigned room was changed due to failing an inspection , showing attention to detail.
the room i stayed in required a heater , yet the heater provided was small for the spacious room. i also noticed it was IMPOSSIBLE to plug in my phone near the bed. these small inconveniences slightly detracted from my experience.

the staff were really nice too ensure my stay was comfortable and my needs were met.
The bathroom grouting had black mold and the shower head looked unpleasant. Marks and stains spoilt the carpets. Damp stains marked the chair material.

the room was spacious and clean. the location felt perfect for what i wanted. i'd gladly recommend this hotel to others.
the room was good but it needed more heat. a small heater felt insufficient for the room's size. i also couldn't easily plug my phone in by the bed.

I stayed in a standard twin room , which was clean. All linens and towels were also clean. The breakfast offered a good cooked selection , ALTHOUGH the continental options were limited.
the mattress was a little soft for my preference.
