scottish style traditional friendly staff whiskey knowledge bartender phone absence remote control heating check in information
the hotel had a warm feel. i found the traditional scottish style to be pretty and quaint. the staff were friendly and helpful, and the bartender knew whiskey well.
i found no phone in the room. the heating was controlled remotely, so i had to go to the front desk. this arrangement was inconvenient, especially since i wasn't told about it at check in.

A sweet highland escape
rain shower clean room friendly staff
The room had a double-size shower cubicle with a lovely rain shower. It was beautiful and so very clean. The receptionist stayed late to welcome us. That was so kind. They even offered us a drink at the bar when we arrived. i thought that was perfect.
Breakfast was very basic, and options for vegans were quite limited. I only found potato cakes and beans.

This location is close to the Cairngorms. It provides an ideal spot if you plan to visit. You can easily drive to the mountains for a day of hiking and sightseeing.

The staff are cute and helpful. They provide assistance in every way. The service during both dinner and breakfast was attentive. i really appreciated this attention.

charming highland stay!
refurbished swimming pool open fire fresh produce
I found the recently refurbished swimming pool beautiful, it was a great way to relax after a day exploring the highlands. the bar area had an open fire! it was very cosy with a huge selection of drinks. the food was really good and they used fresh local produce. It was beautifully cooked.

superb highland stay
welcome drink rain shower
The staff offered us a welcome drink at the bar upon our late arrival. the room had a lovely rain shower with a double size shower cubicle. i found soya cream for my coffee. It was actually very nice.
The bathroom needed updating, including fixing cracks around the sink. there was no blind on the window, it felt a bit exposed. storage was minimal. It looked tired and shabby.

the restaurant's food included the best venison stew, with an amazing selection of local whisky and gins at reasonable prices. breakfast provided a basic but good choice, yet it lacked options like oat milk for vegans.

our double room had tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, and a clean, comfortable bed. the room size was good, and it maintained a traditional scottish style, it suited our hiking trip after a long day.
