period features friendly staff

i stayed in a beautiful double room. it included sash windows that opened easily. the location on high street was fantastic! it was ideal for accessing everything i needed. breakfast at bill's restaurant was wonderful. the staff were very friendly too! i appreciated their quick and helpful service. The building has much history and period features. It adds to the unique atmosphere.

the hotel lacked soundproofing. i found street noise noticeable at times.

terrible noise inadequate soundproofing

the location was perfect. i found the provision of usb sockets quite useful.

the room was close to a nightclub. the noise was terrible, especially with people constantly walking past to use the facilities. this went on until late at night and i found it hard to sleep. the rooms are nice but i can't understand why they would put anyone next to a nightclub.

historic charm with a slight hiccup

spacious room lounge area electric sockets

the room felt warm and spacious, it included a separate lounge area right on the main street, i appreciated the ample electric sockets available, water, tea, and coffee were also provided.

i found the carpet in the seating area to be a bit dirty, also there was a hoover left in the hall outside our room, it was placed on the fire exit stairs, this was not great.

The suite was quite spacious offering a separate sitting room. It provided plenty of room and included both water and tea and coffee making facilities allowing for refreshment at any time.

the location is central near the high street with the building's oldest parts dating back to the 1500s giving it a historical context, a receptionist lent an umbrella adding a helpful service.
