calming getaway

christmas decorcalming roomicy carpark
my stay included a christmas decor with trees and lights. i enjoyed a nice selection of tasty treats and warm scones during afternoon tea. i was upgraded to a larger spa suite (it was huge!). the relaxation room was calming and the treatments were excellent.
the car park was icy. i had to be very careful not to slip. window frames clearly hadn't been maintained (large chunks of paint was flaking off).

the hotel restaurant offers a lovely evening meal. i can recommend the pork loin. the cooked breakfast includes delicious pancakes as well as choosing pastries and yoghurts.

the spa suite was huge, clean and well thought out (one of the larger rooms!). children had their own robes and slippers. this made their day. the hotel provided a game of uno for them to play.

the long driveway creates an excellent approach to the hotel. the hotel overlooks beautiful gardens. it is a quiet location. there are cosy little areas to sit next to a log fire.

the grounds are quite beautiful. i appreciated the helpful tour of the premises provided by the front desk staff. the spa staff were professional and cute.
i noticed some small areas of mold in the bathroom. the bathroom looked like it needed a bit of refreshing. the restaurant was not worth the money i spent there.

the hotel responded to my message quickly. the gate house was very special with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. warm bread and jam arrived in a hamper. the fridge was stocked with milk, juice, and water.
