Rooms include handcrafted features, such as kingsize wooden sleigh and four-poster beds, providing a touch of classical design. Modern comforts include Egyptian cotton bed linen, underfloor heating, and smart TVs.

Dining Experience

The Orangery Restaurant presents a fine dining experience emphasizing seasonal Scottish produce sourced from the local Upper Ballaird Farm Co-operative. Guests can enjoy a changing Table d'Hôte menu or the Chef's Explorer Menu for a more immersive culinary journey. Afternoon Tea, including unique offerings like Scallop Mac 'n Cheese, is served with a selection of fine teas and coffees.

Location

Situated in the King's Park conservation area, the hotel is a short walk from Stirling Castle and central Stirling. The historical significance of the area is complemented by its accessibility, with Edinburgh and Glasgow under an hour away. Nearby attractions include distilleries and shops, enhancing the cultural experience.

Wellness and Leisure

Victoria Square does not provide spa facilities but offers picnic baskets for guests to unwind in the comfort of their rooms. The surrounding area features opportunities for exploring Stirling's historical landmarks and nature trails. Local whisky distilleries provide an additional recreational option.

Accessibility

The hotel is located in a classic 1880s Victorian sandstone villa, with some guest bedrooms on the ground floor for easier access. Public transport connections, including the bus and train stations, are within a 10-minute walk. Additionally, rental car services and local bicycle hire are available.

Dining: The Orangery Restaurant with seasonal Scottish produce

Special Menus: Chef's Explorer Menu for immersive culinary experience

Accessibility: Ground floor rooms with public transport access

“This property stands out for its commitment to Victorian aesthetics, especially the sympathetically rebuilt Orangery. Fresh, local ingredients define the dining experience, while its location offers convenient access to Stirling's highlights. I do note reports of inconsistent breakfast quality and occasional restaurant closures.”

Really good Hotel Experience

comfortable chairs quiet atmosphere local brews
The room had high ceilings and comfortable chairs. I appreciated the quiet atmosphere. The breakfast provided was excellent, a great start to the day. The hotel supports local businesses. I liked that the drinks on offer featured local brews. The walk to town only took about five minutes, a convenient distance.
The temperature control in the shower was faulty. It made regulating the water temperature a nightmare. The taps were also quite stiff. It was an old hotel and it was difficult to operate them.
Facilities
9/10
The building displayed a taste of Victorian luxury, with elegant interior design. There was parking available both on-site and on the street. The hotel's location is opposite a park in an upmarket neighbourhood.
Rooms
8/10
The room was a good size. It included a lovely bed and bedding. The room was very quiet, though the pillows were quite thin. It made it harder to sleep comfortably.
Service
9/10
I received a warm welcome and thorough explanation of everything on offer. All staff members were polite and friendly. The hotel provided excellent service . I found them accommodating, though no apology for faulty plumbing was given.

Excellent hotel, minor hiccup

sherry amenity delicious sausages beautiful decor friendly staff
This hotel offered a sherry and glasses in the room. Breakfast included yummy sausages and well-cooked food. The building felt luxurious with beautiful decor. I found the staff professional and friendly. They provided all needed information.
The room was lovely but lacked convenient outlets. I struggled a bit to find places to plug in my devices near the bed. This was a slight inconvenience, everything else was fine.
Rooms
9/10
The room included a four-poster bed and quality linen. There are modern showers with toiletries provided. A sherry and glasses were there to enjoy when they arrive.
Location
10/10
The hotel is situated across from a green open space. It is a short walk to the town. The area includes stately homes and is quiet. There are good transport links close by.

adequate stay with some issues

dark room stained towel
breakfast met my expectations.
The room i received was quite disappointing. It was located in what seemed like a basement. this meant it was dark, and i needed to keep the curtains drawn to maintain any privacy from passersby (i found this particularly irritating). additionally, i found the cleanliness lacking. I noticed stains on the towels.
