Mountain View Studios, located upstairs, add a full kitchen and a DVD player. Two-bedroom units include a queen-size bed, two single beds, and an optional third single bed in the living room. Suites accommodate four or five guests and have a full kitchen. Select suites include a spa bath and mountain views. Lodge Studios offer a queen-size bed, a single bed, tea and coffee-making facilities, a Smart TV with Sky (5 channels), wireless internet access, electric blankets, and a heater. Bunkrooms, configured with two, four, or six beds, offer Sky TV.
Things to Do
The Hobbit(TM) Motorlodge offers packages including mountain biking and transport to the Old Coach Road. Bike hire can be booked through the motel. Bike storage and washdown facilities are available. The T42 event occurs near the premises. Guests can enjoy skiing on Mount Ruapehu, 20 minutes' drive from the lodge, and visit the Railway Museum, which presents the history of the Railway Settlement. Guests also have the option of a day trip to Tongariro National Park, with Dempsey Buses providing shuttle service (pick up at 6:40 am). Activities available in the region include trips to the Crater Lake in the summer, hiking, bushwalking, kayaking on the Tongariro River, hunting in Tongariro National Park, and quad biking.

Located in Ohakune, The Hobbit(TM) Motorlodge is near Tangiwai Rail Disaster Memorial (1.5 km), Mt Ruapehu Town Office (1 km), and Ohakune Carrot Adventure Park (1 km). Wanganui is 100 km away. Dempsey Buses provides shuttle service to Tongariro National Park and the ski field upon request. The motel also provides transfers to the base of the cycle track at extra cost.
