I enjoyed a delicious dinner that included poached fish, presented beautifully and tasted great. Breakfast provided a very good choice of options. The staff were friendly and courteous during my entire stay. A star should be given to the front of house staff, especially Helen, she provides great customer service with a smile.
The bed was not as comfortable as it could be, and the pillows felt quite hard.

comfort absencestrange setup
I booked a night away with my wife. The historic building looked imposing! Second impressions were a bit off, however. Rooms seemed like a mismatch medley and did not offer much comfort. There was no nice lounge area available for relaxation. I thought the bar and restaurant were not particularly relaxing, and I also noted there was hardly any seating in the coffee shop area. It was like a strange setup, I must say.

our garden room was spacious! i adored how warm it was, especially with the radiators turned low. the underfloor heating in the bathroom felt luxurious and so cozy. it really was like a romantic escape away from the everyday world.
connecting to the wifi took some time, but i imagine it was due to the distance from the router.

the breakfast was fab, with a full english breakfast cooked to order. i loved the selection of juices, cereals, and pastries that were also available. it's always good to start the day like this.

the classic double room was quite clean upon arrival. The staff provided plenty of nespresso capsules. the hotel offered a welcome kit with cookies.
My room was located near a busy staircase. It got a bit noisy.
