Excellent Base for Scafell Pike Adventures

The staff welcomed our dog very warmly. This. We ate at the pub. The food portions were generous offering great value. After a long walk, the bath provided a welcome warm up.

i found the staff fantastic. they were always eager to help in any way they could. the owner was first class and this, coupled with great food and a good range of bears on draft.
the room was described as a premium double room with garden view but the view faced only the car park.

the beer garden is large. the grass is well-tended. the hotel even provides poo bags with a bin for dogs. dogs can take a swim in the clean river near the beer garden, a very nice feature.

breakfast had a nice selection of options, i thought. the food at the pub was delicious. there were decent portions. the breakfast was excellent and it was a super english breakfast, a detail i certainly appreciated.

the location was good for access to the work site. the location was also great for visiting the eastern lakes, a perk. it is a short drive from scafell pike, a great benefit for outdoor enthusiasts.

the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay the hotel boasts a charming beer garden i found it to be a good spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings the food was good and reasonably priced breakfast was especially satisfying it set me up perfectly for each day of exploring the area.
the bath in my room was somewhat of a novelty but i prefer a shower.

The owners demonstrated genuine care, going above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable visit. Dinner and breakfast offered delicious food and very good value. The riverside beer garden provided a lovely space to relax. The bar staff member was amazing, working tirelessly to cover for a colleague.
Upon arrival, a room was assigned that had not been properly cleaned, causing a minor inconvenience. While the issue was resolved with a room change, the initial experience could have been smoother.
