Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Royal Hotel is often praised for its spacious rooms, with some even described as suites, offering amazing views, particularly from the balcony rooms overlooking the beach - some guests have spotted France on a clear day! Many appreciate the large, comfortable beds and the convenience of having fresh, chilled milk available for tea or coffee. Though some have noted that the hotel's interior and exterior decor appears a bit shabby and could use some updating, the location is undeniably a highlight, practically on the beach and close to seaside attractions like ice cream parlours, fish and chips, and the town of Deal itself.

Excellent Beachfront Stay

large balcony comfortable bed cozy atmosphere fireplace couch
My room had a large balcony overlooking the beach. The bed was very large and comfortable. The bar area near the fireplace offered a cozy atmosphere. I easily secured the couch by the fire on both evenings of my stay.
The room windows rattled slightly due to age.

Service

the location was acceptable, directly on the beach.
The room's furniture was dated and chipped. This created a less than satisfactory atmosphere. the floorboards creaked loudly with every step, disturbing the quiet (and potentially other guests). i found it challenging to relax completely given the state of disrepair.
