“I found this hotel's character quite appealing; it's a place where you can genuinely unwind. The bar, stocked with local ales, alongside the generous breakfast, makes it easy to settle in. I appreciated the staff's friendliness and the opportunity to open the windows wide, especially after staying in places with limited ventilation.”

The Richmond Arms Hotel is appreciated for its central location in the village, with convenient access to local experiences like a quaint whiskey shop offering free tastings and a very nice Indian Restaurant on the town square. Guests often comment on the spacious and cozy rooms, some including a TV and kettle, creating a 'home from home' feel, and the secure bike storage is particularly useful for those exploring the Cairngorms. The bar area has a great atmosphere, and while some guests have noted the hotel could benefit from an upgrade, many enjoy the convenience of the pub downstairs and the good Scottish breakfast.

the staff were nice. the room was clean and spacious. breakfast was good too.
the hotel was very dated. the initial impression upon entering was a bit off putting. the shower was over the bath, and it ran off taps so temperature control was tricky.

a little underwhelmed

torn fabriclow shower pressure
The room itself felt quite worn. i noticed the chair fabric was torn and some paint was chipped around the door frame. the shower pressure was also really low. It made it hard to rinse properly. it was functional, but i definitely feel the room could use some attention.
