i needed a place to unwind after a long journey, and this was it. finding it was easy, right off the a40. the honesty bar with its fireplace was a nice touch for an evening nightcap. the breakfast was great (especially the locally sourced ingredients) and the host was genuinely helpful with local tips.

the room was a bit too warm initially, but i quickly adjusted the radiator and opened a window.

the staff seemed fine, i guess. nothing to write home about, but acceptable.

oh, the room. i booked a 'superior king room,' but it felt more like a 'barely adequate peasant's hovel. ' the promised 'king' size bed felt suspiciously like two twins shoved together. also, the noise at night! i swear the walls were made of paper. i could hear every cough, every conversation, every... well, you get the picture.
