Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Esplanade enjoys a brilliant location, with many guests appreciating being near the centre of Tenby and having lovely views, often overlooking the beach from spacious family rooms. Breakfast is frequently highlighted for its excellence, offering a wide choice from fresh fruits and cereals to cooked options like a full English or salmon with scrambled eggs. While some guests have mentioned the hotel's decor as being a bit vieillot, many others found it modern and in keeping with the property, and some rooms offer facilities such as ironing board and fan.

charming stay

immediate access attic bedroom iron bath
the location proved advantageous , granting immediate access to the promenade. nautical blues styled our attic bedroom. the iron bath provided very hot water.
during check-in , i saw stated rules. these included a damages charge for makeup on linens. a thin blind in the room allowed full brightness by 5am.

limited breakfast sound insulation
I found several issues that detracted from the experience. the lack of soundproofing was quite noticeable. i could hear conversations and noise from adjacent rooms and the hallway quite clearly. this made it difficult to relax and sleep soundly. the breakfast buffet seemed a bit limited. i expected a wider variety of options, particularly regarding fresh fruit and pastries.

great location and excellent service!

cooked options friendly staff central location
the breakfast offered both continental and cooked options (i especially enjoyed the variety!). the staff were quick and friendly. the location was perfect for strolling into town and accessing the harbour. our room had all the necessary facilities.
i found street parking a bit tricky. free parking was available, however securing a spot took some time (it might be helpful to add more parking spaces or improve information on alternate parking options).
Dining
9/10
the breakfast menu had several choices, including a vegetarian option. the portions were generous, and the food was well-prepared (the croissants were very buttery!). the dining area was clean and well-kept.

perfect seaside location!

superb location early check-in smooth process
The location was superb. i checked in early since my room was ready. It was a smooth process. i received all necessary codes for the key safe beforehand. the breakfast had plenty of choice and the waitresses service was good.
the bathroom smelt of drains, unpleasant.

seaside serenity

prime location sea view fresh fruit
I loved the prime location near the sea. The views from the room were fine. breakfast offered fresh fruit alongside a cooked option each morning, a good start to the day. the owner, graham, showed genuine care, assisting with directions and offering local recommendations (i felt welcomed).
The absence of an elevator posed a challenge. Carrying luggage up several flights of stairs was tiring.
Dining
9/10
breakfast featured a well-presented array of fresh fruits, cereals, and hot food choices, from a full english to salmon and scrambled eggs on toast.
Rooms
8/10
the double room featured super clean conditions and ample space, complete with coffee and tea facilities alongside an ironing board and a fan, ensuring a comfortable experience reminiscent of home.
Service
10/10
the owner was helpful, always ready to assist with any request, contributing significantly to a warm and hospitable environment for all guests throughout my stay.
Location
10/10
the hotel offered the best positioning with sea views, ensuring immediate access to the seafront amenities (the sounds of the waves were soothing).
Facilities
8/10
the hotel provides a communal sitting area, however it was locked throughout the day and evening, perhaps restricting access to a shared space (this could be improved).
